On Friday 15 November a fundraiser was held at Wrest Point Casino in Hobart, Tasmania to raise funds for Alex to help cover the many costs incurred due to his accident at Monza.
We are happy to report that it was a huge success with 320 people attending the event which was hosted by Glenn Ridge. The special guest for the evening was Peter Windsor who arrived from the UK via the US Grand Prix.
At the US Grand Prix Peter was able to get hold of various items from Formula 1 drivers that were auctioned at the fundraiser including clothing from Daniel Ricciardo, Kimi Raikkonen and Max Verstappen and an autographed cap from 6 times world champion Lewis Hamilton. Peter also managed to get the autographs of a number of world champions, retired and still competing.
Alex auctioned the helmet he was wearing when he won at Monaco and at Monza, a highly sought after collector’s item!
Everyone in Team Peroni would like to thank the many wonderful people that attended the event and made it such a great success! There is still a lot of work to be done to get Alex back on the Formula 3 grid in 2020 and the fundraiser proved to be a great incentive for us all to keep working hard to raise the necessary funding.
