After the European summer break, Alex returned to racing at the Hungaroring on the outskirts of Budapest.
With some unexpected difficulties Alex qualified 10th and finished a conservative 14th in race 1.
For race two Alex qualified 9th and the race was started in the wet following torrential storms in the morning.
With an amazing first lap Alex moved from 9th to 3rd where he remained comfortably for the first half of the race. At approximately mid race the winglet on the outside of the main front wing started to vibrate loose and within a few laps had worked its way loose causing significant handling issues. Alex could only defend and managed to loose only two position while lapping up to 3 seconds a lap above his rivals.
It was disappointing to miss out on a podium finish but a 5th place and a few points to keep Alex in 8th place in the championship were welcomed.
