Round 2 of the championship took place at the temple of motorsport – Monza! What an incredible experience for Alex to race on a circuit with such a rich history.
While the weekend turned out to be difficult at times, Alex was able to demonstrate great speed in the races that fills everyone with confidence for the upcoming rounds.
In race one Alex started 21st in a field of 29 following qualifying. After the first lap Alex had already made his way to an incredible 12th only to see his front wing damaged. He returned to the pits and following a quick wing change was able to tag onto the back of the field thanks to a safety car. In the remaining laps he moved up from 24th to finish 16th.
In race 2 a stall on the grid had Alex transit 28th at the end of lap one but once again he showed great speed to finish in 16th.
In race 3 an incident on lap 1 caused Alex to spin in the second chicane and have to retire with a damaged car.
An unfortunate end to an incredible experience on one of the worlds great tracks! More work now to continue to improve and build that essential experience. Onwards to Imola…..
Alex and his team will be working hard at Imola on June 16th, and then Mugello, to prepare for the next race scheduled at the famous Imola track on the weekend of the 28th June.
