The last round of the Formula Renault Eurocup in Barcelona delivered points and a final placing of 10th in the 2017 Eurocup championship for Alex.
This is a great finish to an outstanding debut year that had as highlight the pole position, lap record and win on the streets of Pau in the south of France. The second half of the year proved to be tough but a great learning experience that will be of great help to Alex’s 2018 campaign in the Eurocup for which planning has already begun.
The Barcelona weekend could have been a very difficult one when there was a huge crash in race 2 that somehow Alex managed to avoid and finish in the points.
Alex and his management team want to thank key sponsors Blundstone, RACT, Renault Australia, United Petroleum and Richardson Devine Marine, and the many people who donated time and funds to his campaign. Without all of these businesses and people the year would simply not have been possible. It has been an incredible feet to get from Tasmania to racing a season in Europe.
