Victory on debut at Bathurst

Alex and Mark had the last race of the season at Australia’s most challenging track, Bathurst. The combination of Mark, Alex and team BRM has been getting stronger as the season has been moving forward after a last minute decision to take part in the GT World Challenge Australia season.

The team was immediately quick from day one which culminated in Alex qualifying 3rd among Pro drivers and Mark 6th in the AM category. Mark started race one and after avoiding some difficult situations he brought the car home and handed it to Alex who set out to chase down the cars ahead. He moved forward from 7th and in chasing down the Leitch Audi secured the second fastest lap of the race as he secured 4th.

Alex started race two and had great pace. While attempting to pass the Ojeda Mercedes at the chase he had a moment with the car and cut across the chicane and then caught back up in time for the driver change. Mark then set out to attack and gradually got by some competitors with a further two having penalties applied. Mark held off the second placed Mercedes to win race two.

As a debut season in Australia and the first full championship in GT3 after a long career in single seaters Alex said “Its been a great learning year for me and as a team we’ve got more and more competitive through the season. As a small team we were punching above our weight at Bathurst. I’d like to thank both Mark and BRM for the opportunity to race with them and I look forward to an even more interesting 2025!”
